Community & Stewardship

The Children of the Sun Initiative is grounded in supporting heritage cultural communities committed to food sovereignty, and structural resilience.

This work evolves through community alignment, elder guidance, and practical collaboration.

RFSI is currently supporting the Pitfour Nyabinghi Rastafari Village in Montego Bay, JA. We give thanks to our contact on the ground, Ras Flako.

ARas Flako Tafari

Agricultural Steward & Nyabinghi Guide

Ras Flako Tafari (Fitzroy Floyd) plays a guiding role in the agricultural direction of the Roots Food Sovereignty Initiative at Pitfour. Grounded in Nyabinghi principles and Ital practice, he brings practical land knowledge, cultural continuity, and disciplined stewardship to the initiative’s development.

His influence supports the alignment of regenerative crop systems with Rastafari land traditions, ensuring that food sovereignty remains community-led and culturally rooted.
